I’m sure most of you have noticed a significant increase in the cost of coffee over the last year. There are several reasons for this since the global coffee markets are very complex and involve many moving parts: agriculture, banking, shipping, roasting etc. The global coffee market is currently worth about 130 billion dollars. That’s a lot of coffee!
Some of the factors driving these increases are heightened demand for better coffee, rising consumption in growing economies, and higher interest in certified coffees and organic coffees. It is certainly getting harder for us to find really good coffee and we are devoting even more time to cupping samples and fine-tuning roasts. As prices rise, please know that we will continue to work to find high quality beans, to roast them perfectly, and to maintain our commitment to providing you with coffee at retail prices that are still some of the lowest in the industry.
Thank you for your support. Some of you have been Rooster Brother coffee customers for almost 40 years. Everyone here is profoundly grateful for your devotion to our coffee.
